Was wanting to build my own shuttle type PC just for media stuff, fwatching films pics music etc, not games.

Built plenty of full on Pc's but never anything like this, so some really dumb questions.

I intend getting maybe a 50in 1080p screen, how will a dvd movie look playing it back through one of these? Im guessing but will it have much to do with the GPU?

Is CPU power really that important for just this stuff, like i say its media only stuff.

Is windows Media Centre to a reasonable quality?

Will it work they way im kinda describing!?

Also what cost im looking at for a mid way decent one, self built, would LOVE it as a small side project.

Anyhelp, as usual, greatly appreciated, thanks.

(and nice cases would be good too lol)

For cases anything from silverstone will rock :D dont think u need a super computer to run dvd's and HD videos, just watched a HD episode of lost and cpu usage was at 10% and ram at 32% from 29% idle on vista.
Think any modern low-mid gfx card will be fine, check the sugo models from silverstone and go from there :)

lol, yea and silverstone have a nice price tag too!!

Was thinking a 4300 and a Gig of cheapish ram, what im wondering is things like what GPU would be good?, for that matter with MB would be good!?

Also whats it like trying to cool these things with little or no noise?

And would it be of much benifit trying Raptor HDD's say two, for all the media?

And what would be a good OS for a media only system with all the Vista stuff out?.
