Some slots report errors, others don't!

Hi all,

I got some RAM, and am in the process of testing it out. It's 2 x 2GB corsair 5-5-5-18. In slots 1 and 3, errors are reported with the first pass of memtest. But in slots 2 and 4, there are no errors even after 2 passes of memtest. Would this indicate a problem with the RAM or the slots? I've been running other RAM in slots 1 and 3 fine for a year.

I can run the old RAM in those slots too, it's just going to take forever - 2 runs takes 48mins. I'm runnin version 2.11 memtest.

Ok, just tested the old memory in slot 1, and there are loads of errors, which sounds ridiculous, as it's been running flawlessly for over a year. Pretty stumped.

I had the same problem a few months back when i upgraded my memory, i would advise you leave the moduals in slots 2+4 and you should be fine mate

No problem bud, some boards are just fussy tbh, You should be fine
