Ok, i've replaced my laptop with a macbook and my dad is thinking of doing the same (whilst keeping his desktop) but he has some questions, i think i've answered some of them but here goes:
1. atm he uses outlook on both machines to sync his emails, presumably he could to use Mobile Me to keep them synced? But can he keep his existing email accounts and addresses? One being POP, the other IMAP?
2. Syncing office documents. He'd rather use iWork and i know iWork can read .xls and .docx etc but what do Letters, Numbers and Keynote save in by default? ie will he be able to transfer all office files between mac and pc without hassle in both directions?
3. He has some software which will only run on windows, obviously BootCamp is an option but how much would Parallels or VMWare Fusion slow down the laptop?
4. He has to sync some windows programs with other devices such as an iPaq, could this just be done through parallels?
5. He's asked me will he need any antivirus software. I don't think its neccessary on macs is it? but would he if he is running windows through parallels/bootcamp?
Sorry for asking loads of questions!
