Went Overclockers today and picked up a Q6600, P5K Premium and a Freezer 7 Pro.

How do i disable Speed step i turned it off in the BIOS but it is still on.

Are these normal idle temps at 1.6Ghz with a freezer 7 pro

Core #0 - 30*C
Core #1 - 27*C
Core #2 - 25*C
Core #3 - 27*C

used CoreTemp

Thanks.

You will need to disable C1E and EIST also are you running Vista if yes check your power options it may be set to balanced or power save.

To check temps you need to run the CPU at 100% use speedfan or Orthos.

Hope the above helps.

Thanks i needed to disable C1E. I was asking about the temps because for some reason only 3 of the cooler legs would clip in and was wondering if it is hotter than it should be.

I would really try to get all 4 legs secured.

I used a lot of force trying to push it down.

do i need to push down in this order? or something like this.

1----2
------
2----1

thanks i did it looking from front to back like this

3----4
------
1----2

4 will not go down. so should i remove it all together and put it on again?

i had the same problem with the freezer also, if you can or have the MB out of the case i got some one to hold the board while you put the force you need to get the clip on, was a ball ache but hopefully will be worth it
