I selected my components with the help of you good people and built my system. That was a little while ago now. I have some cash and want to upgrade. I don't have any problem playing the lastest games and don't really have a particular reason for upgrading, I just want to. Is there any value in upgrading the RAM? (OS is Windows 7 64bit). Temps aren't causing me any problems but could still be better. I am getting way too much dust build up though and was wondering if liquid cooling would be the way to go. As always, very grateful for your suggestions :)

Here's my current setup:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 (socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 Extreme 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W Power Supply OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W Power Supply

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Corsair A50 High-Performance CPU Cooler

Pioneer 24x Internal S19LBK DVD Rewriter including Labelflash SATA

BenQ G2222HDL 21.5" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black [9H.L3RLN.IBE]

SSD (crucial M4 64Gb or 128GB)

Sell the 4GB RAM kit for a 8GB kit, or fill all four RAM slots with another XMS3 4GB kit.

could go up to 8 gig of ram, couldnt hurt.

a new case maby?

i was going to suggest a second 5850 but ur psu told me not to :(

If I was to add another 5850 what watt psu would I need? I hadn't thought about a new case but that's a good idea. When I built the system I put my budget into the components and skimped on the case

I don't know a lot about SSD's. I'm guessing putting your OS on one gives you better performance?

Is there any benefit to replacing the 4gig kit with an 8gig kit over just adding another 4?

im the same iv upgraded twice int he last 2 years but the case always suffers.

to xfire, stulid will be the best advise on that one, that card uses 2 6 pin pcie connectors, so u would need 4 obviously.

Yeah, OS and some games/programs on one really makes things feel faster :)

Only that 4GB of the same RAM might be a bit more expensive per GB than just an 8GB kit. Also the 8GB kit will be less DIMMs, so you can add more later. If you go with 4x2GB you'd then have to replace it all to upgrade.

Thank you for your suggestions. I haven't been on the board in a while but I have done some upgrading.....

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (to take me up to 8GB)
All fans replaced with Akasa AK-FN057 Apache Super Silent
AeroCool X-Vision 5-Channel LCD Fan Controller
Sammy 850 256gb SSD (Running OS & a couple of games)
Akasa BayMaster Card & Drive Reader

I've already installed everything but have now decided I definitely want a new case - something with better cable management so suggestions are welcomed...
I want something with a window. I'm not fussed about audio or usb up front as my mobo only has one i/o for usb 2.0 and the akasa baymaster is using that.

these are all good cases, its really donw to ur taste.

YOUR BASKET
1 x NZXT Phantom 410 Enthusiast Midi Tower Case - Red £89.99
1 x Corsair Carbide 400R Midi Tower Case - Black £82.99
1 x Fractal Design Arc Midi Tower Case - Black £74.99
1 x Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus Case - Black £72.98
1 x Zalman Z9 Plus Tower Case with Fan Controller - Black £49.99
Total : £370.94 (includes shipping : FREE).

I'm not sure about those so I've extended my budget to £150ish

So I changed my mind again! After reading the reviews on the Zalman Z9 Plus I decided to go with that.

I'm also thinking about replacing my CPU cooler. I currently have the Corsair A50 High-Performance CPU Cooler which is quite bulky so I'm looking for something more compact.
