Just got a new router due to the other being ruined by lightning strike

Now some parts of some websites refuse to load and the connection is worse than before.

Gf says one website she tried to order from loaded but failed at order
speedtest.net loads to 100% screen but gets no further
google and OCuk forum loads fine

Edit, speedtest just managed to load and reports 0.1megabit. usually get 1megabit

Assuming we are talking a surge through the phone line, it may have nixed the microfilter, have you tried replacing that?

Yes, im pretty sure it was a surge caused by a nearby strike.
Yep, everything from master socket to router is changed

Ping is 58-100ms,
download 0.1mbps
upload 1.5mbps

upload is normal
ping isnt too far out

Have you tried a different DNS server? If that doesn't work, then maybe you should contact your ISP to see if there are any possible line faults.

There were no reported faults

Think I bypassed the problem
The master socket had two plates infront of it, after removing these speed is up. Has something been affected in these?
I previously only removed the front one

What additional front plates do you have attached, and what's connected to them?

If the lightening took out your modem it could also have damaged any connected phones, fax machines, Sky boxes, etc.

Start from just using the master socket's test port and then add things back one at a time until the problem returns.

Not sure what they are, will have to get pics

Everything else seems ok
Phone works
Switch works
Only issue was between router and outside premises

I'm probably just going to leave the face plates off the socket
