Some wine makes my jaw ache

Same. Bloody agony, and they are not even half way through yet. :(

I had one of my bottom two comming through for five years! It was getting infected about 5-6 times a year and in the end the dentist sent me to a specialist to have it out and I have been problem free for over a year now :D

I've currently got wisdom teeth coming through, but the pain seems to be behind the teeth in the jaw. Not so sure if it's related TBH.

And yes, it is only certain wines, usually the more crisp whites. However sometimes reds pack an ache as well.

Finally, I've found someone who gets this too - none of the people I've asked have ever experienced it so I was beginning to wonder if it was just me.

Yep - me too.

Also get it with Stella and some other beers, lagers. It's definately something to do with the chemicals. It will affect jaw/throat and muscles and major joints (especially around neck, shoulders back, knees etc)

As was stated above - it's possibly sulphites. If you sneeze more than normal the next day - or have a sore throat, that's what could be causing it (assuming you aren't getting a cold). It's similar to the reaction some people get to Tomatoes, Peppers etc (solanine) or Gluten/Lactose Intolerence...... You never really notice it until you feel some mild pain a few hours later and can't explain why it's there until you narrow down what has caused it. With beer - it's most likely Wheat (Gluten) sensitivity or another grain. Not enough to show up on tests - but just enough to annoy you.

That the beauty of food intolerances. Everyone thinks they are rubbish until they actually start suffering and realise they are totally preventable (simplly stop eating the stuff that annoys you)

Most of our problems are caused/aggravated simply by what we eat - nothing else. After all - we spent millions of years evolving to eat meat protein and fruit only - not the rubbish we do now.

I get this every now and again when drinking alcohol. Back of the jaw just below my ear lobes. Quite painful at times but a few more drinks usually sorts it.
