just got my e6850 up to 3.9ghz 1.49v (bios) stable but temps are 69 (coretemp) on full load using prime ffts is this safe temp

btw im using watercooling

That's not too bad. I have seen worse. It's unlikely that it would hit the same temps in "normal" use anyway. Prime small fft's really tortures the cpu.

ahh cool just wont do 4.0 keeps rebooting

and dont want to go over 1.518v as temps get 2 73

100mhz will not make a lot of difference. Personally i would drop to 3.8Ghz and see how low you can get the voltage. Reduce the voltage and you reduce the temps.
