Ken Hensley dead: Uriah Heep band member dies aged 75
Ken Hensley, who was the keyboard player for Uriah Heep, died peacefully surrounded by his family this week, his brother has confirmed.

Uriah Heep was one of the four main bands I was into in the early 70s along with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple & Black Sabbath.
I was particularly into Heep because he played a wonderful Hammond organ.

That, Gypsy and the Wizard.

I mean I wouldn't call myself that much of a Heep fan, but I can still respect their influence on the bands I do love from my generation.

Fan of early Heep, I remember as a schoolboy being blown away by Gypsy off Very Eavy...Very Umble - RIP

Every time we get one of these threads I think hey yes and remember lying flat on the floor between the speakers listening to that band. Then I see the guys age, a few years older than me and realise he was too young really. Damn.

R.I.P.

Certainly heard of him and Heep, I’ll be digging “Weed” out tonight to annoy the neighbours in his honour, love that album even if it is as old as I am.
