So my car got keyed, all down one side facing the pavement.

None of the other cars on the road were done, and the German locals seem surprised that this is even something that someone does. Its blatantly personal, no idea why as I haven't had any run ins with anyone ..

So, I can't afford a respray, and given that its probably going to continue happening, not a good idea anyway. Is there any kind of touch up paint pen I can use to minimize the damage/prevent rust?

Many touch up pens/kits/cans available all over the place.

Even dealer prices aint bad, I got mine from Mazda, Think it was £3.50 for a 2 stage pen and £6 for a rattle can.

I would try something like Meguiar's Scratch X first (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguair`s-ME-G10307-Scratch-2-0/dp/B0006ZXUAG) - whilst it won't remove the scratches if they are that deep, it will help minimise their appearance. Touch up pens normally look fairly obvious (and done badly look worse than an actual scratch), so if you can minimise the need to touch up, I would try this first.

With the 2 stage pens, normally you apply the paint pen first, allow it to dry, then go over with the lacquer pen.

You don't say what car/age/value you have, but if it's worth a reasonable amount, maybe consider a smart repair - would be cheaper than a bodyshop respray.

Its an IS300 Sportcross, so worth a couple of grand max, but its red, and a Lexus and a rare model in Germany, which apparently qualifies as "exotic" as the guy in the TUV center said (lol). Hoping its just someone who hates non-German branded cars, but it does seem more likely that its someone with a grudge :(

Will check out the various options, bought a couple of cheap cameras as well to fit at the weekend.
