I'm gonna get the new conroe CPU's when they are out. However I have been out of the 'overclocking' scene for a year or so... my current PC is a P4 2.8C (DDR1/400fsb etc).
The new DDR2 speeds, and the FSB of the new CPUs is very confusing. Could someone explain it to me rather briefly?
I'm looking at the E6600 cpu:
2.4GHz = 9*266.. correct? A multi of 9 and a clock of 266. However where does the "FSB 1066" come into it (other than it being 4x266)?
If the FSB is 266, are we looking at DDR2-533 for 1:1 ratio, since 533 is twice 266? Thus for faster ddr2 ram such as 667/800 (at its fastest), are we using the clock at 333/400? Thus the "FSB" = 1333/1600?
This is all a bit confusing... please help me out!
