Someone give me a hint at this :o

Hey all,

Well after moving from Skt A to Nforce 3 I uhm seem to have fully lost the ability to overclock

I tried a moment ago and locked the machine up, never a problem though

I'm running an Opteron 146 inside a Shuttle SN95G5, everything I have seen so far says I should get at least 2.5Ghz out of it, but I do not have the foggiest idea where to start

None of the options are familiar to me so could someone either point me to a guide (which I can't find) or give me the basic settings please to get going?

I never thought I'd feel like a noob again this far in.

Start by checking the pci-e or pci speed is locked if there is an option for it.

Then lower the htt multi to 4 and the ram divider so that the ram runs at less than 200mhz. Use cpuz to check this.

Then raise the fsb until prime95 fails, then raise the voltage. Keep going until the voltage is 1.55 or temps under load are 55 or you want to stop.

When/if you get to 250fsb you have to lower the htt multi again to 3. Keep checking the ram and ensure that it stays below 200mhz.
