Erm, I know nothing about classical music, I've got a few bits and bobs, and more recently I've had:
10 Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35- Allegro Moderato
11 Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35- Canzonetta (Andante)
12 Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35- Allegro Vivacissmo
performed by Philharmonica Slavonica on loop for about two weeks. It's just fantastic, and so wonderfully full of texture.
Also quite a big fan of:
Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No 3, Op 30 I Allegro ma non tanto
Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No 3, Op 30 II Intermezzo Adagio
Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No 3, Op 30 III Finale Alla breve
So any recommendations along either of those lines (looking mainly at instrument specific stuff rather than a full symphony thingy, and in particular the piano and violin) would be greatly appreciated.
Also, please don't recommend me anything that sounds like it was taken, or even indeed is, from a disney movie, or is just a very popular piece of music That's my one gripe with the "popular" pieces, is that I realise I've heard them so often in the background without even knowing it, and then I just find I can't listen to them, as wonderful as they may be. The two things above I'd never heard before, and they are awesome
