im a newbie but i need some questions answered before i spend on cooling. i just got the coolermaster centurion 590. im going to get 4 more fans for it soon but i need a fan controller, or do I? are they worth it? and i dont want one that has to connect to an external power supply either. maybe one that runs off computers own PSU? if thats possible. anyway, what would any one suggest? what brands to look out for?

all fan controllers i know run off the PSU (molex connector)
depending on your MB, it may have fan controlling functions, but a hardware fan controller will make altering fan speed much easier thus allowing you to reduce fan noise in a pc when nessarary i.e. when when watching a film or listening to music

I havn't bothered with any fan controllers as i mostly have antec 3 speed fans with my case.
These run off a 4 pin connector and have a 3speed switch when you install them ... i've set all of mine to low and don't worry about it. Having better airflow is a better option that having high speed fans anyway ... whats the point in controlling the speed in which you push around hot air?
