okay so i hate to bring back this thread, but i have her laptop with me at mine at the moment.
just had a play with it. can get it to connect to the internet when i wire it up to my netgear router (dg834) thats fine.
take the wire out of the router to her laptop and loose internet.
wireless set up is a pain in the back side, as it is a toshibe and they have all there own software installed on the laptop making life somewhat difficult.
I have tried the start / run / cmd / inconfig etc and only get some information when her laptop is wired into my router.
Still cannot get any form of wireless nor home network set up.
Doing my head in. all she wants is to sit in my lounge and be able to connect up to the internet and share certain folders with my main computer in the house all wirelessly,
Someone please shed some light on this. at times PC's do my head in.
