someone tried to steal my car last night..!!

Last night, someone attempted to break into my car, well they tried. Dogs barked, and I looked outside and witnessed two young lads, one in a car ready to drive off, another checking my car doors..

You’d never seen me run down the stairs and shoot out the door as fast as I did. The guy checking the doors never even got the chance to see my fist smash his teeth in. He then scrambled up off the floor and ran after his mate in a cheapo looking ford escort as his mate drove off without him. He managed to get into the getaway car and both of them drove off…

Tell you something, my fist hurts this morning, and on the drive is some blood, so must have got him good. He must have only been 17 if that..!! He hit the ground as soon as I punched him. Bugger broke my wing mirror, as I think he used this to try and keep standing..

Why try and steel a Honda.. Just what is this world coming to, but now I think about it, my actions weren’t a good idea. Impulse action to protect, but I could have been knifed or anything. Scary…

Haven’t called the police, as they never got my car. Thieving buggers.. I think they hang out around on another street around the shops in my area, as I swear I’ve seen that car they drove off in before….

It was surprise attacking. TBH, I’m not a violent person, not in the slightest. But I was so raged that someone was trying to either steal my car, or steal stuff from it that I just flew down the stairs, and I was only in my boxers with a T Shirt on and just hit him as hard as I could. After that it all happened so fast.

He was young, perhaps looking for a car to joyride in or something, who knows. But I tell you, after about 15 mins I was shaking.. Couldn’t sleep well last night. I allowed the dogs to sleep all around the house last night; normally I shut them into one room. Didn’t last night, as their barking stopped my car being stolen.

Mans best friend all right..

just wait for the knock on the door now of mr Police man asking you to come down the station for assault, you think im joking i see it about once a week.

That's what I'm now worried about... They got caught out. I was in the house on my own, and no lights were on, and I was in the back room on my PC at the time. I don't have any lights on when I'm on my PC as it's a waste of electric, and I used the screen as light, as this is all I need. I leave the dinning room night light on for my dogs, but you can't see this easily. and not from the drive way.

They must have thought I was in bed. It was late, around 12.30am, they didn't expect dogs to bark, and I think they got caught out....

PS: What Honda is it? Some are regularly targeted - Civic type R, Integra Type R.

It is a Honda Accord 2.0 ivtec sport, but it has the optional 17 inch sport rims, sports option pack and full body kit. In silver, all in all, a very sporty looking car. Not type R performance, but still very good once into the 4k range.

Just about to turn three years old. Can't understand what a 17 year old is going to do with such a big and powerful sports four door car. If he was 17, might have been older, but he was no older then 20 for sure...

I shouldn't have hit him, I know this was wrong but it's outrageous that he attempted to steal my motor. It's not the car, as I can get another one, it's just that it's my car, my drive, my property and he had no business being there. He was un-invited, and the hassle I'd had with the insurance company, trying to find a new car and the fact I'd have to file a police report etc, I guess I just lost it and punched him..

Still, as everyone says got what he deserved really.

Funny thing is, I was only a few weeks back thinking of selling this car, but decided against it in the end. I was going to sell it to get a hatchback to ferry my dogs around, but I’m now buying a second run around for this very purposes, and it was the dogs warning me that car was being stolen.. Figure that out if you will… eek..!!

Nope the law states if he comes at you with his fist and you smash him over the head with a hammer you will be up in front of a judge cause that's too much force.

If he was stood by your car trying to steal it, you went out shouted at him and then he turned around and looked like he was going to attack its deemed as reasonable force to defend yourself (Punch Him) if IV had attacked him with a knife or a screwdriver he would be in the local police station already.

I used no weapons other then my own fist, but I didn't shout at him first.. Just ran up to him, and smacked him in the face just as he turned around to see me. Grabbed the wing mirror, managed to break it off, how I don't know and hit the floor. I backed off, dogs were behind me and I grabbed the coller of one of them. He picked himself up, didn't even look at me, it was dark and as he ran off after his mate, I shouted "what you playing at" or something, and that was that.. Both were gone.

Oh well, wait and see if the police visit.. Typical really, my car and I try to defend it, and now I'm worried I'm in trouble..

Ah I know.. They deserve it.. Wonderful collie dogs, really warned me of danger.. They are now VERY good boys indeed.. I'll give them both a special treat tonight.. Couldn't be without them now..

Did you find any teeth?

No, didn't see any teeth but there was a small amount of blood, which was surprising, as it was a good smack but it normally takes a minute or two for the blood to start dripping from your nose or mouth.

I've got a very sore hand though, but sod it. I felt good giving the theiving bugger a good hiding. There wasn't anything left in the car visable of any value. I don't think I'll ever see or hear of this again, I think the shock of getting caught and punched in the face will be enough..

Tell you something though, just got a quote for a new door mirror, Honda want the best part of a few hundred quid. They are fully electric, with side indicators and fully heated.. How the hell he broke it I just don't know... I'm looking to see if I can get it reattached without buying a whole new unit. It's only the casing broke, around where it attaches to the door.
