Something better than ipad for the same money

So, I'm an Android guy and hate all things Apple, recently I had the use if an 9th generation (I believe it was) and it was silky and a nice crisp clear screen, you can only imagine my utter disgust at this

I believe they go for around the £400 mark so I'm looking for recommendations for an Android that provides something on a similar level but I'm long out of touch on tablets and there are liter 100s out there

So can anyone help me out?

They are more expensive than 400 (though maybe not far off with trade in deals) but I have a Samsung S8 (and s7 previously) which I'm very happy with. Only played around with an apple iPad in store when considering the s7 and decided on the s7.

Am also fairly anti apple

I can't stand iPhones, but I'm afraid you won't get a better tablet than the iPad for the price. Android lacks the ecosystem for it.

Your best option, I'd suggest, is a Microsoft Surface, or possibly even a Steam Deck or similar.

iPad Air with the A14 is £400 from Costco last time I checked.

You won't get better than this.
