Something clicking in computer tower

Not quite sure what it is. At first I thought it was the HDD, but have the side of my case of and really sounds like it's the other end of the computer which would be the PSU but again can't be certain.

Lets see how specific I can be about the clicking; It is not constant, I could go hours without hearing it if not days, it seems to only happen under more demanding circumstances, for example having a lot going on within a game such as Dungeon Defenders. When it does start to "tick" the sequence is random, it sounds as if you were to shove paper into a fan every few seconds (though much quieter) if that's a decent example of the sound :p

I've checked temperatures, all absolutely fine. Nothing is overclocked all running at stock. Though I said this occurs in demanding situations, my PC does not in any way struggle to run and I do not lag as a result. It's more an annoyance, and a worry that something could be faulty.

Not sure how to diagnose this issue so I'm asking for help!

Here's my specs

Windows 7
Gigabyte H55M-UD2H
Intel Core i3 530 @ 2.93GHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 896MB
XFX EasyRail Pro 450W
4GB DDR 3 RAM

I had this for a while, ended up being the old stock 140mm Antec fan. Try singling out your case fans and see if it helps. Mine started out intermittent then became constant after a couple of weeks.

Thanks, tried that. Disconnected the only case fan it could possibly be, still occurs so isn't that. Really does only seem to happen in more demanding situations, sounds like it's PSU and/or PSU cable

Definatley the PSU. I shouldn't have said clicking in the topic, it's much more a cracking sound - as if electrical cracking. Again only when under demand. It's surely more than strong enough to power a 260 GTX and Dungeon Defenders isn't exactly a demanding game.

Should be returning it to the store for a replacement next week.

Still curious as to what peoples opinions are on it though :)
