Something cool I can do to mod this table?

I want to use this as a AV table to put my new AV receiver on and PS3, Xbox, DVD player etc etc!

My mate was throwing it out so thought I would use it and try and mod it a bit.

Its MDF and the top it full of scratches etc.

Do I need to sand it all down and then just prime it and spray paint it? am I best using a brush or roller?

Thinking about making some hole with grills to cool my hardware, maybe add some UV lights or something

Any input is appreciated! as I am new to this

Edit: Take the legs out. Spray them in black. White primer.

Saw into pieces, place in boot, drive to recycling centre, dump.

I like this idea. I would go red on the legs though with a dark laminate and it will really pop.

Yeah the red would be a nice contrast however you need a LED Red type red. I have a can of halfords red paint and primer. Good stuff. Got a nice colour
