Ive had a WRT54GS and PAP2 (VOIP) router for a while and only today did I discover that the units are designed to stand upon one another.. totally awesome.... for ages ive had them stood side by side thinking they look ugly like that... Now they look so much better.

Anyone know if the newer Linkys boxes have the same "feature"?
EDIT: I think not as the newer ones are upright :(

The feet slot into the grooves on each corner.... one of those simple that ingenius design ideas.

You never noticed the cut outs in the top of each unit that look like they might be there for some reason?

:o

Aesthetics/Aerodynamics?

It was only today when changing cables that the penny dropped.

IIRC a lot of their gear is built to stack (inc their access points and switches), just remember to put the hottest one on the top so it's got the best ventilation :)

I think 3com used to with a lot of there stuff as long as it was in the same range (my old CMX cable modem would apparently stack on/with 3com switches/routers/etc).

If you're interested you can also get wall mounting brackets them them I beleive.

Yup 3com did, still have some of that stuff as well :)

I could have stacked my old ADSL2MUE and WRT54G (Modem + Router) but didn't for two reasons, firstly the router got pretty toasty, and secondly, I thought it looked naff and since space wasn't an issue, separated it was :p

Surprised you only just realised though! ;)
