I'm wondering why this is? CPU-Z says with default values Core Voltage 1.248v when Idle, and 1.216v when under full load running Prime95 for such a low Turbo Ratio? However the value next to Offset Mode in BIOS says 1.080v and when I use this value in Manual mode everything runs fine, but a Temp difference of -10c.

Should the voltage acctually be reading as 1.248v under optimized default values (i.e i5 3570k 3.40GHz Everything on Auto etc.. or is something not right?

The drop in voltage will most likely be VDroop, can adjust this with load line calibration.

What CPU and motherboard do you have? Do you know the VID (Voltage ID) of your CPU? Try disable speedstep and enable C1E instead? I use C1E, doesn't clock as low, but lowers voltage the same, also seems way more stable.

My 4.5GHz is clocked down to 4.2GHz but 1.02V while idle. 1.28V under load. This is with offset at +0.090V.

In manual mode the voltage will stay at 1.080V no? If it does, that would explain the difference in temps. Especially if you are on Ivy.

Hi Brian, I have the 3570k and ASUS P8Z77-V LX but had vast issues to get a OC stable. Problem is, If I enter 44 or 45 in the Turbo Ratio the Voltages rocket past 1.44v when under Prime95 Stress and temps in the 90's. I cant set anything lower than 1.296v in Manual Vcore for these 2 Ratio's either, and I'm not too thrilled at running my PC at 1.296v all the time as thats what Idle volts are or they can fluctuate between that or even 1.332v. right now I have it at 43 with everything else set at default, and it seems fine, I think this is my safest Maximum. I have windows Media Player running right now, and CPU-Z Core Voltage is dancing about between 1.176, 1.200, 1.208, 1.216, 1.224, and 1.312v. 3.4% load and 35c temps. Some others have mentioned lowering the CPU PLL voltage for lower Temps, but I have only 2 options for that on this board, they are Auto or + 0.010v. If I try your Offset at 45 I'll Blue Screen on reboot and not even get to the desktop

I set everything back to Optimized defautls and CPU-Z reads the VID between 0.968v and 1.040v while Idle
