In my experience of both the PSN is a VERY solitary experience, which I guess suites a lot of people on here. XBL is focussed around your friends and social gaming with messaging, invites, lobbys, private chat, video, friends list and gamerscore etc. The only problem with it is the lack of dedicated servers.

I see but PSN has pretty much all of the features you mentioned AND dedicated servers, so I still don't see the big difference why everyone on here goes on about Live being soooo much better than PSN. I am genuinely confused

I agree, with exception of the lack of in-game XMB, it's just as good.

I agree with you on this.

The live service is much better. If the PS3 had XMB in game and better voice implementation with noise gates on every game it would match live.

Noise gates on games would make it soooo much better!

Playing MP on PS3 just seems detached.

It's not all integrated into a nice package, it's a poorly thrown together pile of features. I never said live was "soooo" much better, in fact if you play by yourself often it's probably a much better service.

I'm not trying to say which is the better of the two, I'm just trying to understand why so many think that Live is better, it must be as so many think alike but I don't know 'why' exactly.
