Something I spotted from the road

I saw this at the side of the road in a field and stopped the car on the hard shoulder and ran to get a shot. as soon as the shutter went he looked at me and flew off, had to crop the image a fair bit as i was quite far away and only had the 70-200. but i am still very happy to get a picture of a WILD owl

I know it isnt a perfect technical shot but i just had to share my excitement lol. I would have got lower but a fence was in the way.

The contrast and white balance need tweaking though.

and no i didnt cause a pile up lol. just got some funny looks as i ran along the embankment with my 20d and a 70-200 musta looked a sight
