So yesterday during a game i noticed i had artifacts and the computer reboted. Now the damm thing wont come on at all.Im testing with two 8800 gtx cards one of which is my friends and was working 100%

I got what i think is a gfx error 1 long beep 2 short so i grabbed a second 8800 gtx from my friend to test and again it did the same until i hit reboot a few times and finally it worked and i got inside windows but im missing drivers and it tells me my copy of windows is not valid even though i know it is!

So i redownload drivers and reboot and bam im back to square one with the same error on my other card which is no signal to the monitor and beeping.

Here is the weird part though it only gives a really loud alarm when the card i got to test it with is plugged in.If i use the orignal 8800 gtx card i do not get the really loud beeping/alarm and only get the 1 long beep 2 short beep error.

The thing is i know the gfx card works and im going to test the orignal card tommorrow too but honestly what could be going wrong here? It worked one minute and now it wont.Ive tried a bios reset by taking out the battery many times and now i cannot get back in to windows or bios at all :(

I also noteds that there is nothing going to my keyboard or cd drive, no lights on the keyboard when normally there is when i am in the bios etc.CD drive also wont open just stalls with the lights on like its trying to eject. All the other fans inisde the case spin and my HDD data was intact for the brief 10 minutes i managed to get back into windows.

Can anyone help me? Im just beat and feel like giving up

ok remove all pc components ram gfx hdd ect, then turn on see if the motherboard gets past the post stage if it does then add each item 1 at a time and see when it errors

Well if your getting those beeps the PSU is working fine, what motherboard do you have?

Edit: One long and two short usually signifies video problems (on some boards anyway). If your trying more than one card and still receiving similar issues your motherboard might be failing. Try testing your card in another PC and see if you receive similar issues.
