hi, i installed a watercooling loop to my pc, and now my pc wont boot. i did have a leek and some of the psu wires got wet as well as the mobo. i waited for it all to dry then switched on pc and i get no display.

i wonder if ive permently damaged the psu as water did come in contact with the leads, also mobo.

ive so far ruled out ram, graphics card and processor.

off the record - i used monsoon fittings and i have never came across such crappy fittings. i hand tightened them then just a nip with a pair of pillers and water still leaked from them. i have used least expensive fittings such as barb fittings and never had a problem with leaks.

Check the fuse in the plug?

Try the PSU with the green wire shorted to black and use a multimeter to test for voltages.

Really, you should have nothing plugged into the mobo when you leak test so no power should be passing through it. If there was, it may have shorted the power circuits or plugs. Only a full stripdown and close look at the board front and back may reveal something.

Is it new stuff or under warranty?

I had a similar problem when one of my hoses blew off a barb and doused my entire system while it was running. You will have to fully dismantle everything, strip all the vrm/northbridge coolers off the motherboard and any cards that got even slightly wet, then put them in a warm place for a few hours. (an oven at 50 is perfect) I tried to dry my system with a hair dryer for a few hours and got nothing when i tested it. After doing the full strip down, cook and reassembly, it worked perfectly.

the mobo isnt new had it while, i was gonna upgrade it soon anyway its a gigabyte 970a-d3. im now upgrading to a 990fx, but now sonner then later.

i do have a spear psu so will try that soon.

kei - thanks for the advice, its awful i know, luckily my mobo ive had a while and was gonna upgrade anyway and its a inexpensive mobo so no big lost. but i swear its them damn monsoon fitting they are rubbish, either that or i got a bad batch.

try clearing cmos too,can use a hairdryer to dry it out but keep the hairdryer moving so not to burn anything
