something is trying to access my floppy drive

seems pretty normal to me, happens a couple of times when I'm using my comp.

Does it do it on bootup and when you are running Windows?

wound randomly do it in windows from time to time and upon boot or logon after 'locking the computer' (Windows Key+L)
 
an age old problem this. i think it goes back to something like the comp is trying to find more memory and so looks in the floppy disk.. something alogn those lines ne way.

more memory? lol, it has 2gb
os is xp pro w/ sp2
fdd is about a year old

doubt it is an age related problem, could understand if it was 98 with 128mb ram or something

It probably isn't this but I noticed nod32 attempts to randomly scan my floppy at times.. maybe some other kind of anti spyware or antivirus etc.

well thats what i herd on the grape vine. this was around the 98days aye..
 
This happens on my dads PC with Norton on it.

It just scans the floppy drive now and then, mainly at start up a few times.

Could well be your anti virus software. Nothing worry about if it is.
