i recently moved my pc into a different room that the monitors are and have got some long active usb cables to make it so my usb mouse and usb keyboard both can work in the room with the monitors.
for the most part they do work the mouse is forever giving me issues. at the moment it's perfectly fine but after a while it just starts freezing and jumping all over the place as i move it, requiring it to be unplugged and re plugged back in. sometimes this solves the issue, sometimes makes no difference, and other times it causes a message to pop up saying something like "the usb device has failed", which unplugging and re plugging in until it stops saying that solves.
i suspect this is a usb connection issue from the desktop. i tried using a powered usb hub that was usb 3.0 which broke a few of the usb ports on the desktop as mine is usb 2.0. no idea why it broke them but i definitely can't use those ports any more. i replaced with a usb 2.0 but that still has disconnection issues and will forever disconnect and reconnect on it's own.
anyone know of a way i can find out what is the issue? the mouse jumping all over the place is driving me crazy. i can't play games as it's makes the game run like it's 2 fps, and trying to work is just as hard as you move the mouse, it wont respond, then a few seconds later it does but it's gone too far, then you try go back a little but it does the same again.
