hi all im after a dvd convertor / burner, somethinig similar to nero burner but im after a free one as im not willing to pay $99 for a burner. what do you all use and any links to sites would be appreciated.

Also if i where to choose one from the sbove sticky guide which one would you recommend.

For just a burner Infra Recorder is a fine choice. What would you like your converter to do?

I would like, simply to convert avi files etc to burn and play in dvd player and preferably one program instead of two ie convert then auto burn.

I tried dvd flick but unless im missing something i cannot run or install the program as there are no exe files or similar so i have moved on to favc. So if anyone can suggest any more (or at least tell me how to install dvd flick) please do.

So what, you downloaded and tried to run the installer on the web site and it didn't do anything?

I downloaded then unzipped and theres no file i can execute or any application file to run to install.

I don't see the .zip you're talking about. The download link directs me to this URL:

yes i tried that but once its dl'ed it disappears and when i try to access from dl box it just redirects me to site. try and dl it then run it, you (well i) cant so i browsed the site further and found the same file in zip form but cant run it once unzipped.

I use Ashampoo for burning. There is a free version available.

And convertxtodvd for converting and burning

Does'nt Windows do basic burning? No need for other Micky Mouse software.

I just couldnt get dvd flick on my comp but after reading all your messages about it running i tried to run it from a different browser and success. So if anyone else has the same problems i couldnt dl and run from firefox so i used ie instead.
