I've been running my system for quite some time, and it's never been 100%.

I find it lags a lot, when accessing drives. Not only that but, If my girlfriend is running a neopets flash game within firefox, and i wanna do something simple like open internet explorer, It REALLY lags, and often brings Internet explorer to a none responding status.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what the trouble could be?

Its not spyware or a virus. As my computer is 100% clean. It's a fresh install now, I run mcaffee 8.0 corporate, aswell as spywareblaster + adaware and Spybot.

I've also ran Hijackthis and it's clean as i said.

So the problem is defo at a hardware level.

My spec is an Opteron 146 @ 2.9ghz (48hour stable in Prime95)
2gb - Gskill PC4000(DDR500) 3-4-4-8 Dual Channel
Asrock sata2 mobo ( My prime suspect )
3 hard drives - 80gb Maxtor Sata drives x 2, 1 IDE Western Digital 170gb
Graphics card - Nvidia Geforce 5200 256mb (I know)

My operating system is installed to 1 of the Sata drives by the way if that helps.

A bit to look through, But if anyone patient out there can help me. I'd much appreciate it :p

temps seem OK

as for the PSU that might be causing problems if it not supplying enough power due to faults etc
