I've got the Sky Q box and we were watching a program on Discovery Science when it went to a set of adverts. As usual you get the sponsor splash advert first for a few seconds (which was a housing company) and then the first proper advert, which was for the Samsung Galaxy 22.

I wasn't paying a lot of attention to it, until it said "£350 off current contract prices" and I turned to my partner saying "Damn, if it's £350 off what's the total price of the contract!" the advert finished and I looked around for the remote to rewind the live TV to have a look at the small print.

Again, not paying that much attention, but I had to rewind for longer than I thought as I had to go back past a whole toothbrush advert. Which if I had been thinking about it was odd since the Samsung advert had only just finished and before I knew it it was back to the program. Odd, so I forwarded it slowly and did catch a little bit of the Samsung advert, so went to rewind it back to the start of that advert and it just went back to the program again.

Forward it again and now there's not even a little bit of the Samsung advert, it just went from program, to sponsor advert for a few secs and now straight to an advert with Mo Farrow advertising Oral B toothbrushes!

What happened to the Samsung advert? How can we have watched it then for it to completely disappear on live rewind - even weirder that a bit of it still seemed to remain the first time I rewound it, but that it ended up disappearing completely on subsequent rewinds/forwards to find it!

I've been puzzling about how that could happen, is it to do with the multiple inputs on the Sky Q box, does it change inputs when you do a live rewind? Though I would have thought it just cached what you were watching.

Anyway, until I can find the rational expanation I've just been putting it down to a glitch in the Matrix :p

I have in the past found that the Q box glitches a little if you're watching from only a tiny bit behind live. And I have known it to 'lose' part of the recording in that case.

We just got a new q box last month to replace the omne we have had for the last 2 years and the new one is a glitchy as hell. Crashes often, loses recordings, has awful wifi signal (old one picked up our router no probelm, new one flickers between connected and not even seeing the router, had to resort to a wire)

I think they have cheapened down on the internal components.

Sounds similar to what happens on normal Sky HD when you've had something on pause for ages and it runs out of 'buffer'
Maybe an error related to however sky Q manages to split the signal and record 5? different channels at once with only 2 feeds
