Something on my PC throttling my connection?

Hello guys,

Straight to the point, I am certain an app or something is throttling my connection on my PC. This has began happening in the past maybe 3-4 months.

12mbps TalkTalk UK

For example, if my PC and Xbox are on, multiplayer will get lag spikes and disconnect from party chat. However, if my PC is off, it is fine. Why I think it's PC related is because when I try stream say a football game (using trusty sources, something I have been able to watch fine in the past), my connection should be able to handle it, but all it seems to do is play stop play stop. (Streaming on other devices is absolutely fine, just my PC)

I'm using Windows 10, upgraded from 8. Is there any checks I can do to see what is using my connection exactly?

Thanks

Might be worth checking your windows update settings

Windows 10 defaults to providing windows updates via a peer-to-peer style mechanism

(Start -> Settings -> Windows Update -> Advanced Options -> Choose how updates are delivered)

Just changed it thanks, but this was happening prior to Windows 10 upgrade
