So I got some fancy goldfish about a year ago, a variety of colors and a little bug eyed blackmoor.
I'm sure when I fed them this evening, all was well. Yet 20 mins ago, I noticed the blakmoor has one of his eyes missing. The whole socket has gone!
(S)he doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, just swimming around as normal. No sign of it on the tank floor either.
So, I'm guessing one of the others got a bit excited at feeding time and mistook his bug eye for a pea (yes, peas were on the menu this evening!).
Anyone know if this is life threatening or if not is it better to keep him alive or as the missus says 'flush him'? If not life threatening, are there any treatments available for preventing infection until it heals?
