Hey guys. think i've finally decided to upgrade the old graphics card. I'm currently running a nvidia 9800gt and was think of upgrading to this

just wondering what the thoughts on this card are or if there is something better out there for the same kind of price. it'll be going on an asus m4n98td evo which can do sli but doubt i'll do that as i don't have the room at the mo with a sound card and wireless card in there. but sli could be a nice upgrade in the future sometime i guess.

i'm not really a hardcore gamer but when i do play my games i do like to have the best graphics and the 9800gt just isn't cutting it anymore.

cheers

What's the spec for the res of your system (i.e. CPU? PSU?)? And what res you gaming at?

Depending on what you are playing, upgrading graphic card alone might not improve frame rate at all if your CPU is the bottleneck in games.

i'm running a phenom ii x4 955 be oc to 3.8ghz, the res is 1920x1080 on a lg flatron w2261vp, ram is Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz and psu is ocz 700w stealthxstream and its all in a cm storm scout.

amd in the wisdom has put a stop to this, unless you find old stock or 2nd hand you're out of luck as far as I'm aware.

the only one that has a chance of unlocking is this but its the most expensive at £234(till next wednesday then back upto £240 untill ocuk do another offer on it. no need to flash the bios on it as it comes pre-modified and just need to flick the switch(comes with 2 bioses, 1 standard and 1 modified).
