Hi, I was surfing the net and out of a sudden my monitor went blank and gives out a notice saying " no input signal ". But after rebooting pc, everything is fine?

I'm wondering if it is the GPU or the MONITOR that is causing this? And yes I have checked the cable connection, they are fine and not loose.

It can't be overheating, they are watercooled. Maybe it is just some random thing happening eh :/ But it only happens after I install VISTA x64.

heh, that made me chuckle... if PCs had personalities then I can just imagine that happening. I'd hope mine would be like Bender from Futurama :D

maybe you knocked the monitor, and the cable became loose? or maybe you had a slight powercut, enough to take out ** screen, but not ** hole pc?

edit: and I still have no idea why ** (u-r) is blocked! can anybody explain why?

a couple of months ago i started getting the same thing.. the monitor blanking out, and coming back after a few seconds. gradually this became worse, and eventually it got to a point that the monitor wouldnt come back for a good few minutes, and got me vex mode..

anyway, i found out the gfx was overheating. my solution: took off the fan, reapplied thermal paste (after cleaning off old dried up paste), and stuck the fan back on :)

all good in the hood now :D

Yeah, either the card crashing/overheating. Happened to me one or two times, very weird and seems scary until you hit reboot and it's working again :D

Weird, I wasn't doing anything graphically intensive when it happened. Just watching some video. And my graphics card are watercooled, they idle at 44-45 degrees and never exceeds 55 when load.
