I recieved a text this morning, opened up the message and it said-

Jeevan, thanks for your loan enquiry with CFD.We need a few more details before we can submit to lenders.
please call us free on.....

So ignored it...

Then just got a phone call,an Indian lady on the other end said..
her -Hello can i speak to Mr..."Some indian name",
Me-i think you have the wrong number
her oh i appoligise il remove your number from our records.
me-who is this please...how you get my number
her-puts phone down.

What you reckon?...i dont give out my number to just anyone,I hope i dont start getting scam calls.

Load or Loan?

Possible identity fraud and the first text was a company phoning up the registered phone number to confirm the application was being processed?

I had something similar recently when I got a letter through the post confirming my application for a loan that I didn't make.

Sorry it meant to say Loan yes.

So what you thinks going on then?...like i said i dont give my number out to just anyone, only people that have my number are my bank,my work and a couple of friends but they would not give out my number without asking me first i know that.

Maybe they are linked but maybe they genuinely had the wrong number on file.
Any call from a foreign country has us asking questions though...suspicious lot nowadays ain't we.

Most likely someone filling in an online loan application just with the intention of seeing how much it would potentially cost them. Not wanting to be hassled, they just stick random digits into the compulsory telephone number field to see if they can get their quote.

Those random digits just happened to make up your number.

Spam spam spam.. Im constantly getting text telling me that according to their records I have been missold PPI and could get it back. Despite never having a loan or anything.

They get you to text back, youre then signed up to text service and are like charged £5 per text or some bullsh*t

I had a pre-recorded message from an American on the landline earlier saying "Hello, we will connect you to your party" before they disconnected.
