Hey everyone before I get to the nitty gritty ill get my system specs
Intel 6300
Geil 2GB (512x4) 6400
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Gigabyte DS3 (on F7 btw)
Ok heres the situation. I overclocked my CPU quite a while back to 2.8Ghz and though was fairly stable, I was quite happy with that so ive just left it. Now ive just checked my CPU speed (Intel Thermal Analysis) after afew months and its says that its been knocked down to 1.8Ghz which is the stock speeds. Dont know how long ive been playing games without that extra 1Ghz!!
This is extremly wired as im looking at other peoples clocking speeds with identical spec PCs and there pumping out 3.2's and 3.4's. Am I doing something wrong? Also according to Intel Thermal, its says its runnig at 50oC which seems a little high to me for Idle speeds...
As far as I can tell it must be one or a combination of these
1 - Im doing something wrong in the BIOS department
2 - CPU Cooler isnt fitted properly
3 - RAM isnt good enough
4 - Mobo / BIOS is having a shocker
5 - CPU or MotherboardJust simply cant handle speeds that high
6 - Overheating in some other way (case cooling, conjestion etc)
7 - The ram being 4 sticks of 512mb RAM Geil 6400 instead of 2x1GB sticks is making it slower
Errmmm, thats all I can come up with atm...
Please Help!
