Somethingtodo’s PSU roundup.
I noticed that there isn’t much info on these forums about power supply units, so I decided to do a round up of them myself, obviously I am not going to include every psu on the market, but I will include quite a few, I hope you find this guide useful. Some PSU’s have active PFC;
PFC stands for Power Factor Correction and can be described as using series capacitors to “remove” the effect of leakage inductance that limits the output current. PFC can provide more efficient Power Frequency; in lay terms it means less power is lost.
This is not a detailed guide, the facts I state are correct, but I don’t go into all the over current protection bits etc.
