This happens everyone once in a while and I dont know how to fix it. When I turn the PC on no power seems to be sent to the keyboard and mouse, well thats what it looks like.

So when I try to log on, the computer doesnt recognise any input. Always get a message in the bios telling me no keyboard is detected either. Only way to get round it is to switch it off and the powe supply then turn it all back on.

I've got the logitech G19 and the G9x mouse, asus iv extreme z motherboard if thats got anything to do with it

i had a quick look about and there are some mobo issues with it (some asus mobo's included), recommendation given is to update the bios, so check yours and see what the asus forum says about it.

Im guessing your mouse and keyboard are USB? Does the motherboard have PS/2 sockets? If so, try using them instead, you may be able to use a USB to PS/2 adaptor but depending on the keyboard and mouse themselves, they may not working properly or at all. So you may need a dedicated PS/2 keyboard and mouse.

Sounds to me more like a USB socket issue than the keyboard and mouse. Have you tried booting with other USB devices attached? Some modern motherboards support/detect USB devices like portable HDD's from boot, try booting with one attached and see if it detects it.

You may have a motherboard with dodgy USB sockets? Have you tried the latest Bios?
