Somewhere hot, somewhere cheap?

For easter, any suggestions? Where's hot?

Do those 'last minute' deals actually exist and is it better to wait, and if so, where does one get them from?

My budget is about £400. 1 or 2 weeks is good.
 
Is that 400 for 1 person or 2? If it's 1 then you shouldn't have a prob....teletextholidays.co.uk are ok if it's for 2 I'd do easyjet to somewhere..

Easter is a popular time though although I believe that because it falls so early this year the kids only get Fri and Monday off school and take their 2 week break later due to there being some rule about the length of term time not exceeding so many weeks
 
Just looking at the very same - Sharm el Sheikh, 7 days, 5 star hotel and full board + flights for less than 600 quid. Also Tunisia is about the same price.

I'm not normally one for package deals but me and the missus want some sunshine and pampering.
 
I spent a week in sharm el shiekh and believe me - its wonderful! the snorkling is some of the best in the whole world - no exaggeration. The staff at the hotels treat you like royalty - nothing is too much bother for them. I would heartily recommend a stay in sharm and especially at the conrad hotel - it was fantastic and suprisingly cheap! Google the conrad hotel in sharm and when you see the pics you will be sold :)
 
Wow, Sharm El Sheikh looks amazing, looking at the Conrad hotel for me and the gf at the end of march. €102 for a room. Not bad!

Pictures of the area look amazing, we're just having some trouble finding flights out there at the moment, we'll probably have to go through a hub I guess. What air line did you get out there?

Turkey.

Istanbul for the "real" Turkey; Alanya, Altinkum, Belek or Bodrum for the sanitised touristy experience.

I personally recommend Istanbul. Get yourself some accommodation in Sultanahmet (wife and I stayed at the Zeynep Sultan Hotel) and you're in walking distance from all the major attractions; Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, etc. :)
