Sonata II - *another* rear case fan / PSU question...

First time builder (see sig for specs) - but concerned about both the PSU and rear fan speed on my Sonata II

The rear case fan is powered by a standard molex (I think that's what it's called) and is working... I've set it onto low speed via the dongle. How can I monitor the speed and/or connect up a future fan controller as (as far as I can tell) there is no link from the fan that feeds back into the motherboard / future fan controller.. or am I missing something important?

On a similar note (and probably related), where does the small 3 pin / 2 lead connector that comes from the PSU (green and black cable; looks suspiciously like a "fan to mobo connector" to my inexperienced eye) connect to and what is it monitoring? - is this somehow connected to the case fan or is it from the PSU?!?

Normally, I wouldn't be bothered as the PC is stable (if a little warm; CPU@40oC on stock volts, under load) but there is a fan (or something) making quite a bit of noise from my case... which I don't think should be.. I suspect the PSU is going nuts.. which is worrying (as I don't think the fan on the PSU should be running at all!)

The manuals (mobo and case) have been no help and the websites FAQ can't answer these questions... and I've tried searching on this website too..

40 under load on the CPU is nothing to be worried about!!!

Most are rated to be SAFE way above 70deg!

The PSU will have a thermally controlled fan.

Basically, if it is stable do not worry.

In regards to the fan, molex fans cannot be connected to fan controllers you need the 3 pin speed reporting varient, the way to make your fans quieter is to volt mod them, which is in the sticky. :)
