I'd be gratefull if someone could advise on the best arrangement for these two parts? I'm using the Gigabyte DS3 motherboard and e6300.

I could take off the big air duct all together, or take parts of it off.

Thanks,

Get rid of all the ducting, it is intended for P4 prescott systems basically, so is of very little use with the newer style coolers. :)

Took mine off for Thermaltake Sonic Tower. Bit of a gimmick imo.

Its not a gimmic if you have the right system, only is useless if your system will not benefit from it, but if it can benefit its better to have it than not. ;)

Yes and no. If the pc is situated with the back being confined in any way then hot air from the psu is sucked into the duct. Sorta negates any benifit it serves.

All ducting removed!

I read a tip showing cardboard above and below the Ninja to focus airflow, I might try that.

should I add a 120mm intake fan to the front? ...if this is possible.

Done the cardbord duct mod myself. Works a treat.

Also installed 120mm fan in front by removing some of the hdd bays.. Nice cool air, filtered as well.
