Song Ripper?

Hi all,

I want to copy some songs from a cd to my hard drive as the disk is very scratched and I think I may lose the songs if not backed up.
At the moment the songs are in .cba format, and when i copy them over Im left with just a 1kb file. Whats a recommended app to use?

Also, I think some of the songs may already be damaged as I can here a small 'scraping' noise on some of the tracks, anyway to restore them?

Use windows media player to rip them. Cleaning wise, have no idea/ sorry

Exact Audio Copy is my favourite.

CDEX - which uses the cdparanoia engine - and EAC (Exact Audio Copy) in combination with a good encoder, such as lame (for mp3) or flac are designed for exactly this sort of thing

Audiograbber is supposed to be quite good. Can save as MP3's or normal audio format.

EAC + lame

or if you can't be bothered to set that up, use cdex

do not use wmp, lol


-you can tell EAC to scan REALLY slowly, and to rescan damaged areas, it can rip cd's with holes in (you'll get a skip obviously, but will play much better than in a normal cd player)
