It's difficult to suggest things because Thom Yorke's vocals are pretty unique, so it will depend exactly what part of the song you want to be sad, the music, the vocals, or the lyrics.

.A lot of Meg Myers songs have the melancholy/negative feel of Radiohead.

R.E.M's Wendell Gee (from Fables of the Reconstruction) gives me the same feels as Fake Plastic Trees, but it concentrates on beautiful sadness rather than a range of feelings.

If you're after raw emotion then you should listen to Automatic for the People, though if you're listening to The Bends it's likely you have already. It's an entire album filled with different emotions. Loss, love, life, anger, beauty. Listening on your bed in the dark with headphones on it's hard to ignore the onions.

This, it's a fantastic song.

It would be well worth giving eels a spin if you haven't already.

If you like Thom Yorke, then try 'El President by Drugstore' or 'Rabbit in The Headlights by Unkle'. He sings on both of them.

It's more melodic and less rock but the Poses album by Rufus Wainwright might be worth a listen.
