''The Great Wall of China'' by Tangerine Dream
and who could forget (God knows I've tried) ''The Chinese Way'' by Level 42

Japan - wonderful early-eighties foppish arty types - did nearly an entire album ["Tin Drum"] of songs with references to China: Visions Of China, Canton and Cantonese Boy being the obvious ones.

Canton was the one used as introductory music for nearly every TV piece on 'the mysterious and distant orient' - Wish You Were Here, The Money Programme, that sort of thing - and is probably the most recognisable to a generation of thirtysomethings who grew up before the internet shrunk the world.
