Songs won't add to 'Music' in iTunes but DO appear in 'this week'

Hello,

Bit of a strange one this, and I've never seen it before. I'm having no joy googling it because it just returns results of people trying to get a song in a playlist without it appearing in the Music section.

I have the opposite problem. Lately, when I add a folder of songs to iTunes, they appear to import like normal but do not appear in my Music section of my Library.

They will, however, appear in 'This Week' or any other Smart Playlist that would normally include them. For example I can make a Smart Playlist with the rule 'artist is such and such' and the new album will be in there - but not in Music!

I'm completely at a loss as to how I've done this, if I did do it, or how to fix it if I didn't. The only thing I can think of is that I'm fairly sure it's happened since I switched on iTunes Match - but I'm pretty sure breaking your local iTunes isn't part of the service!

Any ideas?

Have you tried playing one of the songs and seeing if it appears in your library again? I just wonder if it is showing in your playlist because it's in the cloud, and upon playing it will download it and throw it back into your library again.

Doesn't move - interestingly though on my phone it's in the list and I'm downloading them now, so it looks like it's just my music playlist it's not in.

And it shouldn't just be in the cloud, I physically added it to my iTunes library from a local folder, and they come up in 'this week' straight away.

So strange

Hmm that is strange... So is it all okay now?
