Today we are happy to announce that Sonic CD will debut on mobile phones and consoles everywhere! Originally released for the SEGA CD system in 1993, and included the first appearance of fan favorite characters Metal Sonic and Amy Rose. Big news for fans everywhere, Sonic CD is coming to digital platforms with music from the original Japanese soundtrack. The beloved prequel to Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode I is coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network, iPhone and iPod touch, iPad, PC Digital Download, Android, and Windows Phone! Best of all, Sonic CD will be available for download in late 2011!

1 & 2 are pretty much the best platformers ever - Sonic CD was horrific though :/

As for Sonic CD on my iPad... Awesome. :cool:
 
I might be interested in this. I picked up the "Sonic Collection" CD from a game shop for £10 a few years back, and my modified Sega joypad that uses USB works perfecto with it. It's basically all of the Megadrive games with Sonic in it, including Spinball and Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. It also includes Sonic 3D that came out on the Sega CD. Still in 2D really, isometric, but it was ambitious for the Megadrive nonetheless :-)

Well, the megaCD was the worst for me, but I never actually bought any games apart from the demo disc, so it doesn't count :p
 
Sonic and Knuckles was my favourite of the lot if I'm honest. Being able to plug in Sonic 3 and make it a new game was a brilliant idea. Could even put in Sonic 1 or 2 and play the bonus games as Knuckles IIRC.

I agree about the Casino levels though, they were awesome :D

Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic 3 were meant to be one complete game but Sega split them into two either due to size or development time. Still have it setup with my retro console room:) Playing Sonic 2 with Knuckles is awesome. Still trying to get hold of the original Sonic CD for my Sega CD but the price:(

HWHAT?!?!?!??!?!?! YOU TAKE THAT BACK!!!! (got to have a king of the hill moment for that statement being too far TO THE EXTREME)

Wow Sonic CD had an awesome intro song/video and was pretty easy to beat on the pc, compared to sonic 3 and knuckles on the pc anyway...

Might dig out my pc copy of this as I should still have it...
 
I just completed Sonic CD (for the first time) yesterday! Do'h. I much preferred it over Sonic 3 but still Sonic 2 is my personal favorite :D

I'm really loving Sega's new attitude for Sonic and finally recognising that there is 2 different audiences for it's games.
