Whats it like? I want to get the ps3 version when it's out so looking for some 360 people who have played. (wii version is different)

Whats it like etc etc? Good, crapola? Let me know :)

Been playing the 360 over the past few days. I found it fun to play, not up there with Sonic Adventure series but still fun and very fast paced. The Wharehog levels are not so boring compared to the Wii version either.

I've heard very mixed reviews from various sources on the net.

Apparently the Sonic levels are great, almost Sonic Adventure Standard, although the game is let down by Sonics other side. Sonic turns into a Werewolf at night and slows down the game pace and it’s also very repetitive, bash bash...
It’s been getting 7/10s which is not bad for a new Sonic game, much better than recent efforts.

I keep thinking that someone needs to slap the Sonic Team around the head and go back to basics with what worked in the first place!!! (Sonic 1,2 & 3)

I've had my eye on this. The 'daytime' stages look really, good, but apparently it's let down by both 'adventure' style gameplay, i.e. gameplay time lengthening **** which involves talking to random NPC's and doing search missions and the slower, more button-mashy-combat-slow-platforming werehog stages.

As to why SEGA didn't make it all the awesome daytime stages, well, someone on another forum I visit posted this link:

http://www.indoorheroes.com/article.php?id=58

To summarise:

well, heres the deal... he runs at this miles per hour, kilometers per hour, and he laid out all of the statistics on how fast this hedgehog goes, and he was like In order to make a game where Sonic is running and everybody enjoys the whole thing we'd have to design this many miles of level, and it was some ungodly number.

Basically the reason they can't make good Sonic games is because it'd be hard. Well fancy that.

but the old sonic games were never at a million miles per hour :P And they rocked!

I think ill pick it up so thanks guys :) Its not getting the slating that previous sonics have got so it cant be all that bad aye.

The speed stages are like a mix of Sonic rush and Sonic and the Secret rings.

The Sonic daytime stages are really great fun once you've played through them a couple of times, you unfortunately have to learn the levels layout before you really start enjoying them I've found.

I find the time trials great fun, but if you're not the kind of player who likes multiple playthroughs of the same level I don't know if you're really like the speed stages.

The "Werehog" nightime levels are so average is unreal, they really are just filler, boring, way to long, way to slow, with ridculously repeditive fighting.

Game is completely hit and miss for me, step forward with the sonic stages, step backwards with the werehog stages.

Oh and one last thing, the music in this game is absolutely fantastic!

The intro graphics are amazing as well, its like Pixar quality stuff.

Im quite enjoying it so far, although as has been said, the werewolf levels are a bit dull in comparison to the classic sonic gameplay.

I think it's quite good,

now, i'm no simpleton, I like the complexities of RPGs and appreciate AAA titles that are winging our way this xmas, but I LOVE the daytime levels, cant get enough, find just restarting levels over and over to get that hot dog! And I HATE time trials with a passion normally! But this is just so much fun! I like the werehog bits (this is where I can be seen as a simpleton!) but then again I like TMNT LOL!

Love the fast paced levels, the Werehog thing is just not needed at all, so boring and frustraating :/

OK I dont know what game you've all been playing but this game is literally dog poo. Do not buy this at RRP. Wait till Jan and it will be a tenner new max. There are loads of good games out, this is not one.

wish they'd just remake Sonic2 side scrolling but 3D if that makes sense

If they put out a great HD Mega drive style sonic with amazing animation/ art style etc it would sell millions and be awesome.

For some reason the sonic team is just full of idiots who have this odd concept that sonic is all about 'speed' and as long as its really fast with no depth to the gameplay at all then it will be great.

They got it almost right with the DS ones, its really frustrating some one at sega doesn't realise.

well i got it for ps3.

Goto say im really enjoying it :) Boss battles are ace, and I even enjoy the warehog parts too. Only played a little bit so far, first "jigsaw piece". So off to play some more :)

reminds me of playing the old spyro games on ps1, and sonic 3d on megadrive :)
