Hi all,

As above, trying to figure this out, as this is usually NetBIOS related or DNS related, however, NetBIOS is enabled on the VPN server (on the SonicWall firewall) and the DNS settings are set-up correctly), I have tried doing a flushdns on the machine that they are trying to RDP too, and the remote machine that the client is installed on but still cannot seem to resolve the computer name thats on the workgroup, so the only way they are able to connect is via the IP address.

I have tried disabling the Windows firewall on the end workstation to see if that was causing but no difference.

Of course they are kicking off about not being able to use the names rather than the IP addresses

Doing a search on google at the moment is not giving me any good results, tried most things at the moment.

workaround, dump the ip's and pc names in their hosts file.

as for the real error, what does nslookup have to say when run from the clients machine?

does it even see the dns server?
