Sonos Play:1 Alternative

I had a Sonos Play:1 but sold it due to the limitations and no direct Bluetooth connection.

I'm looking for a replacement living-room speaker.

There seems to be mountains of small portable ones, but less permanent ones with plugs.

Something that sounds as good, I don't care if it is larger.

Any suggestions?

What on earth were you wanting to deliver via bluetooth that couldn't be done over the wireless network?

You won't find much that sounds as good as the play:1 but the bose suggestion above is a good one if you like the bose sound.

Yamaha have their new Soundcast (Think that's the name) systems that most amps etc have, could be worth looking into?

I guess there could be a situation where you don't have a wireless network to use (internet outage?) and you'd like to listen to some music perhaps?

Just setup a wifi hotspot through your phone and you are good to go!

Lots of things you just happen to be doing on a phone for example and don't want to mess around opening the Sonos app.

BBC iPlayer comes to mind. Or YouTube.

Sonos restrictions just got annoying.

Sonos clearly isn't the product dor you it is the best multiroon homecmusic system available because that is what it focuses on. It has never tried or pretended to be the speaker you want!
