Hi, has anyone wall mounted one of these in their bathroom at all?

I know they are not water resistant, but I've heard (may be a rumour), that they can handle humidity and some moisture perfectly well.

I was looking to stick one in the showeroom and try avoid having to go the ceiling speaker route.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

They are humidity resistant so should work fine.

The issue you will have is sorting power for it. I think i'd be tempted to route the plug into the ceiling space and have it connected up there somehow.

Thanks. For whatever reason there's a slight small hole big enough to run the cable just outside the bathroom with a plug socket. Not sure if previous owner had something simular or was attempting it. Just thought I'd ask as will save the hassle of sticking a ceiling speaker in.

Not sonos I know, but have you considered an Echo instead of sonos for a bathroom? The voice control is fantastic for situations when you are soaking wet and not wanting to prod your phone / sonos to start / stop / skip etc. It's also good for laying in the bath and going from song to song, station to station from your voice only! And the quality of an Echo is more than enough (imo) for an average sized bathroom

Yeah, the Play1 is designed in part for bathroom use so is humidity resistant. Power would be your only issue but if you can plug it in to a socket outside the bathroom easily enough then go for it.

Bathrooms are actually permitted to have sockets in, according to the latest regulations. But getting them three metres away from a bath/shower is tricky in most houses. Whatever you put in, make sure it's RCD protected.

3m? Bit ridiculous! Over here the code is basically you shouldn't be able to reach it if you're in the bath/shower (so around 1.5m), and if you really can't get it that far away then it can be closer, but of a special type.

UK wiring regs are pretty crazy, technically even powered from outside the bathroom a play:1 shouldn't be in zone 1 or 2 as it hasn't been officially IP rated.
